#96: Detention
The guy that directed the film “Torque” and hundreds of music videos and commercials self-financed the creation of one of the most enthusiastically odd films I’ve seen in a while.
Detention is the story of an assembly of students in a school who are trying to figure out who is killing (or attempting) to kill kids in their town. Their investigation leads us on a fast-paced journey of time travel, body snatching, ’80s and ’90s nostalgia in heavy doses, and…detention. It’s a sci-fi-slasher film that takes place in a high school. It’s an R-rated teen movie. It’s also pretty great.
